WEEK ONE: FOLLOW JESUS
Day 1: Monday, January 6
Surrender – Matthew 4:18-22
When Jesus called Peter, Andrew, James, and John, He asked them to leave their nets behind—their source of comfort, security, and identity—and follow Him. They surrendered their lives to follow His call without hesitation.
Surrender can feel risky. We cling tightly to our plans, possessions, or sense of control, but Jesus invites us to trust Him completely. Following Him often means letting go of what feels safe and stepping into the unknown. However, His plans for us are always better than anything we leave behind.
What “nets” might Jesus be asking you to release today? Is it a habit, a fear, or a desire to control your future? Trust Him with it. Surrender is not about loss—it’s about gaining a deeper relationship with the One who knows and loves you.
Application Point: Ask God to show you an area in your life that needs surrender. Release it to Him and take one step toward obedience today.
