Day 13: “Oikos”

Read Luke 19:5–10

The New Testament word for “household” is “oikos”. But this meant more than just those who lived in the same house. It meant the network of relationships a person had. Jesus often worked through households and relational networks. God places people in our lives for gospel purposes. Where we live, work, study, and play is no accident. It is a God-orchestrated opportunity. Our daily relationships are opportunities to model Christ, speak truth, and extend mercy to people who don’t know Jesus. A connection with Jesus can change everything. Building trust and showing care in these networks provides natural avenues for personal connection and demonstrates Jesus’ love practically.

Prayer:
Ask Jesus to open your eyes to the people He has placed around you.

Application Point:
Identify one person in your oikos and pray for an opportunity to show Christ’s love today.
