NV Kids VBS Leader Note: Sunday - Getting Ready for Breaker Rock Beach!

Welcome! Today is all about getting ready for an amazing week ahead. We're so excited to have you join us as we dive into God's rock-solid truths!

We look forward to seeing you this morning at church during one of our VBS meetings, either at 8:30 AM or 10:15 AM in Room 102.

It is imperative that you attend one of these in-person VBS meetings (same as last week). You will be receiving your VBS gear (feel free to personalize your hat to make it even more fun!), updated on last-minute info, and have an opportunity to pray with others for our week! If you have not watched our VBS training videos, please make that a priority as well. Thank you so much!

As you prepare for the week, please know that Donn Nelson: (509-998-5144) is your go-to person for any questions or help. Feel free to call, text him, or reach out to him in person. He's looking forward to supporting you however he can! Donn is our wonderful Crew Leader mentor and your personal information hub. He is exceptionally well-prepared for this task, as he is a retired public-school teacher and currently serves in Children’s Ministry as our 2nd & 3rd-grade class lead teacher. He loves Jesus, kids, and families. If Donn isn't immediately available, the information desk in the lobby is another great resource.

A quick reminder for all leaders: When you arrive, please first check in at the information booth in the lobby. After checking in, head downstairs for dinner and prayer at 5:15 PM. Leaders should then proceed to their stations by 5:50 PM or the worship center if their areas are all prepped.

For all those who can be ambassadors tomorrow, we truly appreciate your help! We need one crew leader in each row to receive kids in their designated spots. The other leaders (from all over VBS) will serve as ambassadors, bringing the kids to their rows, which are clearly marked by signs. Please help the kids to wait to do their name tag until they get to their rows – then the leader in the row will help them put their sticker on their name tag.

Leader Devotional:

As we prepare, let's anchor our hearts by spending time with the Lord. This week, we'll be guiding children to discover God's rock-solid truths amidst the ever-shifting sands of our world.

Scripture for Reflection: Matthew 7:24-25 "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock." (& Luke 6:47-49)

Thought for the Day: This passage from Matthew reminds us that true stability comes from building on Jesus, the Rock. Our VBS theme, "Breaker Rock Beach," perfectly mirrors this truth. Before we can pour into the kids, we must first allow God to pour into us. This means spending time in His Word, letting it be our blueprint, and engaging in prayer, allowing Him to strengthen our foundation. (Dig deeper: Read through the book of John this week.)

Apologetic Connection: This week, we'll introduce the idea that God is our Creator. The very act of creation speaks of order, design, and His power behind it all. As we witness the details for VBS come together, remember that God's plan for the universe is infinitely more complex and perfect. He sent His answer to our greatest need, our need for a Savior; He sent us Jesus! He is trustworthy to lead us and help us with all our needs at home, in our commitments with others (work, school, groups, family etc.) and of course at VBS!

Prayer Prompt: Take a moment to pray specifically for yourself, asking God to fill you with His wisdom, patience, and love for the children. Pray for clarity of mind, strength for the tasks ahead, and a heart open to His leading. Also, pray for your fellow leaders and for every child who will walk through our doors this week.

Leader Encouragement: We praise the Lord for your commitment to this vital ministry! Your presence and prayer-filled preparation are essential. Lean on the Lord and ask him to help you support each other, on your team, as we embark on this exciting week.
