NV Kids VBS Leader Note: Friday - The Reliability of the Resurrection

Good morning, wonderful Breaker Rock Beach VBS Leaders!

As we near the end of our VBS week, our truth for today is God's Rock-Solid Truth: Jesus Rose from the Dead.

Our foundational Bible verse is 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, which declares, "For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures." Donn Nelson is still your dedicated mentor for any questions, and the information booth is available.

Leader Devotional:

Reflect on the power and significance of the resurrection. It's the cornerstone of our hope and the ultimate proof of Jesus' victory over sin and death. This truth isn't just a historical event; it's the living foundation for our daily walk with Jesus. Because He rose, we can live as His disciples, empowered to follow Him, grow in knowing Him better each day, and show His incredible love to the world. Let this truth fill you with joy and confidence as you lead today, knowing the immense, living hope you are offering the children.

Scripture for Reflection : Romans 5:8 “ But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Kid's Daily Bible Lesson Scripture: Ephesians 4:11-16 (Relating to living out the truth as a united body, growing in Christ)

Thought for the Day: The resurrection isn't just a story; it's a living reality that changes everything.
Because Jesus rose, we have a living hope, forgiveness, and the promise of eternal life. This powerful truth calls us to daily respond as His disciples: to grow in our understanding of Him, to intentionally follow His path, and to let His resurrection power enable us to show His love to everyone we meet.

Apologetic Connection: The resurrection of Jesus is the cornerstone of Christian faith. Skeptics have tried to disprove it for centuries, but the evidence remains incredibly strong. Consider the empty tomb, the numerous eyewitness accounts (over 500 at one point!), the radical transformation of the disciples, and the rapid spread of the early church despite intense persecution. These factors provide powerful reasons to believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus, which is essential for the truth claims of Christianity and provides the ultimate assurance for a life lived walking in faith as His disciple.

Prayer Prompt: Pray that the reality of the resurrection would deeply impact the kids' hearts, inspiring them to walk daily as disciples of Jesus.
Pray that they would desire to grow in knowing Him better, to follow His teachings, and to actively show His love to their families, friends, and communities.
Pray for a powerful closing day and for lasting fruit from this week.
Pray about your role of how God wants to use you to serve Him at church. What team does He want you to serve Him on. Read in James Chapter 1, Matthew 28:19-20 and in Ephesians 2:8-10 about what He says He wants you to do.
Pray about if He is calling you to continue to make a difference in the lives of children and their families!

Ways You Can Help:
Your help in taking down decorations and tidying up is invaluable.
Tonight: Basic can be taken down and put in the Fireside part of the Fellowship Hall or in the gym.

As you plan your tomorrow, we'd love your help with scooping ice cream for our fellowship on Sunday (we get it all ready the day before).

On Sunday - We're asking all leaders to attend to be available to connect with the families as they mingle in the lobby.
Your presence helps us continue building relationships with the kids and their families beyond VBS. Please wear your VBS t-shirt, hat, and/or Hawaiian lei to help you be identified as a leader.
Thank you again for your incredible dedication and heart for these kids all week. You've made a true difference!

Leader Encouragement: You've done an incredible job all week! Let's finish strong at VBS today. Keep pouring into these kids and sharing God's truth. As you prayerfully consider your next steps, we encourage you to think about joining our NV Kids Summer Service Teams on Sunday mornings. This is a wonderful opportunity to make an ongoing difference in these kids' lives by being part of a team that continues to pour into them and model what it means to be a disciple of Jesus!

You are loved, valued and appreciated dear ones!

We are so thankful you said yes to Jesus this week!

We are praying for you!

In Jesus’s love,

Donna 😊
